Chayan
Khoi is a self-educator, a hands-on learner, who has developed
his skills on his own. In the 1980's, he went into photography
to pay for his architectural studies and quickly developed a passion
for the photographic medium. Fascinated by seeing depth in something
flat like a photo, photography opened up a box in his mind that
would mold his future. He then decided to come to Paris to further
his university education at a design school, while continuing
to work as a fashion photographer. Little by little, the amateur
turned professional and, on the strength of his journalistic skills,
decided to abandon architecture and design, and to devote his
attention to works of a more personal nature.
So
began his career-without-boarders as a photographer. A few short
years and thousands of negatives later, he projected himself into
another field of experimentation-the electronic revolution.
Chayan
Khoi showed interest in avant-garde technologies, particularly
in terms of image processing. Using his computer, he composed
an initial series of photocompositions entitled "Looking for Lost
Cities (1997-1999)" Legerete' meaning from one source Chayan created
artwork is an exciting mix of adventure photography and a vision
of an alternative settings. A contemporary and evocative fusion
of ideas, his work challenges us by showing us a world where what
we are certain of is thrown into question.
Chayan believes artwork should be a focal point in any room. With
a dimmer swich you can create mood settings that explode with
color and depth. His photos of man-made architecture and nature's
natural beauty create windows of beauty never seen before.
